Notes on age determination, size and age structure, longevity and growth of co‐occurring macrourid fishes

Nineteen species of the deep-water fish family Macrouridae inhabit Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR) North Atlantic. Size and age structure, longevity length at were explored for seven more abundant species: Coryphaenoides armatus, brevibarbis, carapinus, guentheri, mediterraneus, rupestris Macrourus berglax. The otoliths from these had growth increments resembling those accepted as annuli in other which validation experiments have been conducted.
